RADISSON SEVEN SEAS NAVIGATOR DINING
The Seven Seas Navigator offers two dining rooms, the Compass Rose
restaurant and the Portofino Grill. Full menu selection is available in the
Compass Rose for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Portofino Grill offers a
breakfast and lunch buffet, then converts into a reservations-only Italian
steakhouse for dinner.

Dining onboard the Radisson Navigator is an exquisite experience on par
with any land-based gourmet restaurant. The food was consistently served
exactly as ordered with a professional presentation. All meals on Radisson
are open-seating, meaning you can dine whenever and with whomever you
choose. The maitre’d offers guests a choice every evening of dining alone
or with other people.

The maitre’d also honors requests to be seated in a specific waiter’s area.
We were pleased to meet our wonderful waiter Jesus Obal on the first day
and requested to be with him for all meals thereafter. The staff quickly
learned our names and dining preferences. After the first evening our
drinks and my daughter’s milk arrived every meal before being ordered.

RADISSON NAVIGATOR DRESS CODES
On the Bermuda cruise, three nights are Informal meaning cocktail
dresses or pantsuits for ladies and jackets for gentlemen, the remainder
were Country Club Casual.

COMPLIMENTARY HOUSE WINES
The complimentary house wines served at dinner were impressive and
included a good variety of California, French and Italian. When my husband
remarked on the excellent quality, the head waiter Shai Lamber explained
Radisson’s policy. “What’s the point of serving a house wine, if no one
wants drink it?” he said.

RESERVATIONS ONLY PORTOFINO GRILL
We enjoyed our one dinner in the reservations only restaurant, Portofino
Grill. A good selection of authentic Italian antipasti dishes were served
buffet-style, while soups, entrees and desserts are ordered off the menu.
Guitarist  Franco Lillo provided entertainment by serenading diners in
several languages during dinner. There's a slight vibration in the back of
the Portofino Grill while cruising on open water so request to be seated at
the other end of the restaurant.

COMPASS ROSE RESTAURANT
Our favorite meals in the Compass Rose restaurant included lamb chops
with mint jelly, the seafood mermaid with lobster, scallops and shrimp,
horseradish-crusted rib eye, pork tenderloin with pumpkin soup and the
cheese plate served with a glass of port. We also enjoyed the sea bass,
beef burgundy, foie gras stuffed quail, crusted venison, beef stroganoff and
spaetzle, all desserts and the after-dinner coffees served with a plate of
chocolates.

BUFFETS
Buffets onboard the Radisson Navigator are not your typical cruise buffet.
The food is a very high quality, drink orders are taken at the table, and
waiters insist on carrying  plates. The Portofino Grill serves a daily buffet for
breakfast and lunch. There’s a large variety of items for breakfast and a
made-to-order egg and omelet station. The restaurant also offers a
specialty item each day, such as French toast or eggs benedict.

The lunch buffet changes daily with the exception of the fruit, salad and
pasta bars. The carving station served a variety of pork tenderloin, lamb
and beef. Soups on the buffet were excellent, especially the Serbian Bean
Soup. For those on special diets, the dessert section always included
sugar-free cakes or cookies. My daughter loved the sugar-free chocolate
pound cake and never noticed the missing sugar.

POOLSIDE GRILL
The grill opened from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. every day, weather permitting.
Along with the usual fare of hamburgers, fries, etc., the grill also presented
several special lunches such as grilled mahi-mahi during the Poolside
Fish Al Fresco and a magnificent Mexican buffet.

TEA TIME
Every afternoon from 4:00-5:00 p.m., tea is served in the Galileo Lounge
along with a dessert buffet. Don’t miss the Viennese desserts or the
chocolate buffet.

RADISSON NAVIGATOR ROOM SERVICE
The room service on Radisson is the best of any cruise line we've
experienced. The regular in-suite menu includes appetizers of shrimp
cocktail, proscuitto, melon, and cheese plates. Other menu items include
hamburgers, fries, pizza, etc. During lunch and dinner hours, certain items
can be ordered on the Compass Rose restaurant menu and served in-
suite. I ordered dinner in-suite one night when my daughter felt unwell and
enjoyed it, but felt too guilty about overworking our butler, John Simon to do
it again. I told him he could bring everything at once, but he insisted on
serving everything course by course, making a total of five trips back and
forth to the restaurant. There's no doubt the butlers are the hardest workers
on the ship.

Room service breakfasts are also very good with a selection of several
types of omelets, meats, breads, fruit, cereal, pancakes and waffles.
